Compared to the first Bugatti Chiron tourbillon design, Jacob & Co. has changed several elements, the most recognizable being the case. Like the latest design, the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon features a large sapphire case: 57.8mm long, 44.4mm wide and 21.4mm high. To avoid distraction with too much shadow, the case is coated with an anti-reflective coating.
Seemingly simple, the case of the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon is extremely delicate and difficult to handle. The entire case is always a smooth and transparent curve at any angle. Indispensable is the very clear horseshoe grille on the case, in which the buttons and crown are adorned with a dynamic red.
Unlike the case, the crown on the latest Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon and the pusher that activates the uninterrupted movement of the W16 engine are made of sapphire and titanium. The W16 engine consists of a miniature crankshaft located at the bottom of the dial. A steel crankshaft will drive 16 sapphire pistons that move rhythmically up and down, similar to a real-life Bugatti Chiron supercar.
Not bound by any standard, the rest of the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon embodies the bold style of Jacob & Co. house design. Like this model, the dial is designed in a skeleton form that appears to be suspended between hidden mechanical details.
